Este foi o maior protesto desde que a justiça do país, no dia 22 de outubro, proibiu aborto em caso de má formação fetal.

A polêmica discussão envolvendo a questão do aborto tomou conta da opinião pública na Polônia nos últimos dias. Nesta sexta-feira (30), dezenas de milhares de pessoas participaram de uma marcha em Varsóvia contra uma decisão do tribunal superior do país que resultou na proibição quase total do aborto.

As informações foram publicadas pelo portal G1.

Com a nova legislação, as mulheres na Polônia só podem interromper a gravidez legalmente em caso de estupro, incesto ou de ameaça à sua saúde.

Por esta razão, protestos diários ocorrem em vilas e cidades em todo o país desde a semana passada. Nesta sexta-feira (30), os organizadores sustentam que cerca de 100 mil pessoas se reuniram na capital.

Desafiando as regras de distanciamento social que restringem reuniões públicas a cinco pessoas, os manifestantes caminharam pelas ruas do centro de Varsóvia carregando guarda-chuvas pretos, um símbolo dos protestos pelo direito ao aborto na Polônia, além de muitas faixas.

Em um esforço para aliviar as tensões, o presidente polonês Andrzej Duda propôs reintroduzir a possibilidade de interromper a gravidez em função de anormalidades fetais, embora apenas limitada a situações que ameaçam imediatamente a vida.

O primeiro-ministro Mateusz Morawiecki prometeu que o parlamento vai prosseguir com essa nova proposta rapidamente.
